Airventure 2011 : Some images from this year's Oshkosh show. Highlights despite lousy weather when I was there was Navy Day and a bumpy landing by an F-16 from the Air National Guard. The show is too big to take in just two day however.

Olympics at London 2012 : Action from Aug 7th 2012 at the Olympic Park London.We travelled by train,including the smart Javelin to the Olympic Park and after wandering around admiring the stadia,gardens, and the Orbit,finally watched athletics in the main Stadium. Team GB won a bronze at the high jump. The guy in the blue and camel outfit is my friend Bernie!

Iceland 2012 : Astronomy tour of Iceland in early December 2012, including Aurora watching and exploring the northern hot sprinds,waterfalls and a short tour of Reykjavik. Highlights of the northern region included visits to Dettifose waterfall featured in film Prometheus,thermal open air bath,jeep safari to dormant craters .Visibilty in the short daylight was 100km and night sky was crystal clear at -17C!!

Your Bio

Photography has always been of interest but since retiring i've tried to "up my game". Joined the RPS three years ago and obtained first level distinction (LRPS) in 2010 with images of aviation,tennis and glass.Hope to go for Associate level soon with Aviation as a theme. Also do work in Sport(mostly tennis),Sub Aqua and travel.I'm with a local group of inspiring amateurs-Herts Foto Forum.My kit is Canon based with DSLR and Compact (EOS 7D/30D/G-9,and now(2012)the G1X) and I do some of my own printing. I'll exhibit from time to time and will try competitions soon. Other interests include Kiln Formed Glass,Golf,Tennis,Walking and Wine!
